• An EASA (Denmark) and UK CAA Senior Examiner with extensive experience in all aspects of examiner and instructor training.

• Accomplished in authoring, construction and delivery of instructor and examiner courses (ie, with Competent Authority ratification and approval) for one of the world’s largest ATOs whilst in management and Leading Instructor / Standards Roles over the course of the previous 13 years.

• Has vast experience in the theory, authoring and delivery of UPRT courses and in teaching aerodynamic principles. These have been illustrated and taught to customers and instructors in both Full Flight Simulators and proven, demonstrated and trained on the AFL aerobatic aeroplane.

• Has courseware design skills that can be undertaken harmoniously with both customer requirements and meeting the requirements of Part FCL of the Aircrew Regulation and particularly with respect to the recent changes in the Air Operations Regulations (Parts ORO, CAT, SPO and NCC).

• Has a background that includes 3 operational tours as an RAF pilot and Line Flying, Instructor and FTM roles in the world’s No 1 airline. Full Flight Simulator Instructing experience amounts to 13 years and 5000 hours, with an additional 14,000 hrs of civil and military flying.

• Airline flying skills are current (presently flying as an airline captain) such that teaching by demonstration on the aircraft and in the Full Flight Simulator (In Seat Instruction) is performed naturally with effective teaching and handling skills.

• Aerobatic and UPRT skills were learned during my own flying training on a similar Pitts S-2A Special and are regularly practiced on a high performance aerobatic machine - the Pitts S-2C Special. Having instructed on both airliners (aircraft and simulator) and in the real aeroplane, has the tremendous advantage of being well versed in the transferability of relevant skills. This is unlikely to be apparent to those who are familiar with delivering instruction only on a high performing small and agile aeroplane.

• All services offered are bespoke and performed within the structure of client ATOs and/or AOCs. Relevant CA approvals for such work to be undertaken will be managed by me.
